Aba

Settlement Type: Outpost
Region: Arctic/Desert
Population: 75
Description:
Aba is an outpost located in the Arctic Kingdom of Tigal. It is very isolated and the residents survive primarily by hunting and trading giant-bones.
Aba's population is 63% Human, 24% Yeti and the remainder consisting of other races. Because of the cold and lack of traditional building materials, most of Aba's buildings are built from snow during the long, cold winters. During the warmer summer months, thick fur and hide tents are the norm. During the arctic summer, most of the Yeti simply sleep beneath the stars, unbothered.
Aside from companionship and shelter from the elements, Aba has little to attract visitors or adventurers. The only permanent structure in the outpost, is a small temple to the Kindler.
The temple is watched over by a young human priestess named Adira. Although she has a limited repetroir of divine spells, she is more than happy to allow weary travelers to rest in the temple, as long as they are respectful.
If any outsider were to disrespect the temple or Adira, they would find themselves in a very bad situation with the other residents of Aba.

Iohia

Iohia is the capital of the Kingdom of Zadoul. The city population consists of 61% dwarves, 23% humans and the remainder consisting of other races.
At the heart of Iohia is the Great Palace(03), the home of the Royal Family of Zadoul, the highest ranking nobles, important courtiers and wealthy merchants. The Great Palace is essentially an enormous building that is home to hundreds of important and influential people.
Near the Great Palace is the Mausoleum of Queen Tanin V(02). The Mausoleum is an enormous marble tomb, adorned with statues bearing the likeness of the legendary queen. Surrounding the tomb are lush green gardens open to the public and several prominant temples.
Near the Great Gate of Iohia is the Red Tower(01), the headquarters of Zadoul's war-mages. The tower overlooks the Merchants' Plaza, and its long shadow extends, both physically and metaphorically, across much of the city. Magic and magic-users are tightly controlled in Zadoul, and all native mages are required to serve in the country's military. The Red Tower is where those mages are taught, although some would say indoctrinated, to serve the interests of the Kingdom and the crown.

Padeleine

Settlement Type: City
Region: Mountain/Grasslands
Population: 19,178
Description:
The city of Padeleine lies in a large valley, surrounded by the Zabe Mountains, in the Kingdom of Anesina. Padeleine's population is 47% dwarf, 36% human, 13% elf with the remainder consisting of other races.  Mining is Padeleine's main industry; specifically, a rare type of metal found only in the Zabe Mountains, known as zabium. The metal is owned by Anesina's monarch, and is valued because of its magic-negating properties.  Illegal possession of zabium is a death-penalty offense.
Given its isolation and the value of its industries, Padeleine is a well-protected city. There is a heavily fortified wall surrounding the city, with (01)guard towers spaced equidistantly along the wall, garrisoned by soldiers of the Anesinaen army.

Although mining and metalwork are the lifeblood of Padeleine, the city's residents do enjoy their pleasures.  In the heart of the city is a small shop(02) owned and operated by Madame Lilli Paques, a dwarf perfumier whose talent for scent is known across the length and breadth of Hura. Madame Paques produces custom scents for the rich and powerful, often incorporating exotic, hard-to-find ingredients. She has a team of hunters who work for her, acquiring the ingredients for her scents, but she's always on the lookout for new agents.

Hura

So, a lot of people are doing this 365 Day Dungeon challenge right now. The idea is that, each day, you create a room in a dungeon. At the end of the year, you should have a dungeon with 365 rooms in it.

I've decided I'm going to do something a bit different. Instead of creating a dungeon, I'm going to do some worldbuilding. Each Monday, I'm going to post a brief description of a settled location in a world, either a city, a town, a village, an outpost and maybe the occasional ruins.

By the end of the year, I should have 52 locations done.

Welcome to Hura.
